
Funding that aims to build research capacity and capability to tackle current and emerging challenges related to vulnerability and policing, enabling early career researchers (ECRs) to lead co-produced pioneering projects that contribute new findings and insights.
Applications in all fields relating to vulnerability and policing are welcome for this open call. However, one award will be reserved for focusing on the theme of vulnerability in drugs markets.
ELIGIBILITY
Proposed projects need to align with the Centre’s programme of work and values and principles. They must also include co-production with at least one non-academic partner organisation, and have a strong collaborative approach, with clear partner support.
The PI must be within eight years of their PhD viva (teams may include senior researchers who provide mentoring and support but will be led by the named PI).
VALUE AND DURATION
Research grants of up to £25,000 for 12-month projects are available.
The funding panel will be given discretion to make awards and apply conditions, which means funding awards may differ from the amount requested.
KEY DATES
Deadline: 29 September 2025
Successful applicants notified: Mid-December 2025
Projects commence: Early February 2026
