{"id":844,"date":"2024-10-23T11:23:37","date_gmt":"2024-10-23T11:23:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=844"},"modified":"2024-10-23T11:23:37","modified_gmt":"2024-10-23T11:23:37","slug":"nihr-research-programme-for-social-care-competition-three","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=844","title":{"rendered":"NIHR Research Programme for Social Care: competition three"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"402\" height=\"125\" src=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/NIHR-logo-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-846\" style=\"width:402px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/NIHR-logo-2.png 402w, https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/NIHR-logo-2-300x93.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 402px) 100vw, 402px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funding for research that generates evidence to improve and strengthen the way in which social care is provided for users of care services, carers, the social care workforce, and the public in the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme funds primary, secondary and evidence synthesis research including qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods designs.\u00a0 All proposals are expected to have a high degree of involvement from relevant people who need or use social care and the social care workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Proposals are welcomed from researchers and practitioners that are focused on, but not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Studies of social care needs, circumstances and relevant outcomes related to adults, children or young people who need or use social care and carers (including studies of inequalities in any of these domains).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluation of existing or new social care services, addressing their effectiveness, cost-effectiveness and distributional consequences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Effectiveness and cost-effectiveness evaluations of interventions, including adaptations or refinements of existing interventions\/technologies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing and testing new assessments, interventions or services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research methods development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feasibility, pilot and definitive trials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research examining consequences for social care users of provision of other services (e.g., health, education, criminal justice, family courts, housing, benefits).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Policy-implementation research.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Studies that involve secondary data analysis or record linkage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Systematic or other reviews of evidence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strategies for preventing or delaying the need for care and support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research on approaches to support and strengthen the social care workforce.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Capacity-building opportunities within awards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">RELEVANT NIHR HIGHLIGHT NOTICES AND THEMED CALLS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This Research Programme for Social Care competition is currently participating in the following highlight notices and themed calls:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nihr.ac.uk\/funding\/research-programme-social-care-competition-3\/97015#tab-358821\">DHSC area of research interest early action to prevent poor health outcomes<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nihr.ac.uk\/funding\/research-programme-social-care-competition-3\/97015#tab-359261\">National Institute for Health and Care Evidence (NICE) NIHR NICE Rolling Call<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nihr.ac.uk\/funding\/research-programme-social-care-competition-3\/97015#tab-359271\">NIHR James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnerships Rolling Call<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">ELIGIBILITY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications can be made through\u00a0universities, local authorities\/governments, NHS bodies or other providers of social care services across the UK, but must have strong involvement and collaborations with organisations that are responsible for delivering social care services, where appropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">VALUE AND DURATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The amount awarded and the length of the funding period for individual projects will depend on the nature of the proposed work.
