{"id":637,"date":"2024-07-29T09:57:47","date_gmt":"2024-07-29T09:57:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=637"},"modified":"2024-07-29T09:57:47","modified_gmt":"2024-07-29T09:57:47","slug":"veterans-foundation-grants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=637","title":{"rendered":"Veterans\u2019 Foundation Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"364\" height=\"156\" src=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Veterans-Foundation.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-638\" srcset=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Veterans-Foundation.png 364w, https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Veterans-Foundation-300x129.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 364px) 100vw, 364px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Funding to provide support for those in need among serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans, operationally qualified seafarers and their immediate families across the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A potential, qualified beneficiary \u2018in need\u2019 is one or both of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At a disadvantage compared with non-armed forces citizens due to their service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Someone who is experiencing challenges such as the following: unemployment, homelessness, mental and physical ill-health, injuries, poor welfare, a child&#8217;s loss of parent, or addiction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Although grants are principally aimed at direct service delivery to veterans, the Foundation will consider funding <strong>research that will bring benefit to veterans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funding can be used for projects covering a range of aspects of social care for the Armed Forces community, including but not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reducing homelessness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increasing employment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing welfare and medical support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increasing confidence and social interaction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reducing dependence on alcohol and drugs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reducing poverty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mental health.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Marriage guidance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Care during old age.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The following grants are available:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Small grants of between \u00a3500 and \u00a35,000 are being introduced and are <strong>expected to be available at the end of July 2024 \/ beginning of August<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Standard grants of between \u00a35,001 and \u00a330,000. This can be for one year or a multi-year grant for up to three years (e.g. \u00a310,000 per year over three years).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salary grants up to \u00a325,000 per year for up to three years, for the exclusive use of salary costs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>There are quarterly deadlines for standard and salary grant applications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8th October 2024 &#8211; for a decision in December 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>20th January 2025 &#8211; for a decision in March 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>31st March 2025 &#8211; for a decision in June 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>21st July 2025 &#8211; for a decision in September 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.veteransfoundation.org.uk\/apply-for-a-grant\/\">guidance and application form<\/a> differs for each of the above funding programmes and these need to be read before applying.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Funding to provide support for those in need among serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans, operationally qualified seafarers and their immediate families across the UK.
