This means taking a broad view of racial diversity as covering all racial or ethnic groups living in the UK, including White populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Evidence gaps to be addressed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Why<\/em> some of the UK\u2019s different racial outcomes persist while other disparities have closed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>What<\/em> works to end racial disparities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>When<\/em>, <em>how<\/em> or <em>if<\/em> policy and programme interventions are effective in achieving this.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The benefits and opportunities that racial diversity can bring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme is interested in questions of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Socio-economic equality.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Senses of place, belonging and identity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Barriers to and opportunities for inclusion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demographic trajectories.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How the UK compares internationally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Race and ethnicity should be the central focus from which any intersectionality with class, disability, gender, place and other dynamics is explored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Research is expected to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contribute to understanding, public debate, policy and\/or practice on tackling racial inequalities, discrimination and disadvantage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Map pathways towards a UK that is comfortable with and reaping the benefits of its growing racial diversity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As with all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nuffieldfoundation.org\/funding\">Nuffield Foundation funding opportunities<\/a>, applications proposing any methodological approach, including applied methods and participatory research, are welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Partnership applications which bring together researchers and racially minoritised communities to explore challenges and develop solutions are strongly encouraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Deadline: 14 October 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nuffieldfoundation.org\/funding\/racial-diversity-uk-fund\"><strong>opportunity webpage<\/strong><\/a> for full details.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new programme to support research on racial diversity within the UK.
