{"id":405,"date":"2024-06-04T15:32:02","date_gmt":"2024-06-04T15:32:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=405"},"modified":"2024-06-04T15:32:02","modified_gmt":"2024-06-04T15:32:02","slug":"preannouncement-ukri-cross-research-council-responsive-mode-pilot-scheme-round-two-call-opens-2-september-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=405","title":{"rendered":"Preannouncement: UKRI cross research council responsive mode pilot scheme: round two (call opens 2 September 2024)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"302\" src=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/UKRI-logo-1024x302.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-406\" srcset=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/UKRI-logo-1024x302.png 1024w, https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/UKRI-logo-300x88.png 300w, https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/UKRI-logo-768x226.png 768w, https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/UKRI-logo.png 1455w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This pilot scheme will support ideas not routinely funded through existing UKRI responsive mode schemes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is designed to support interdisciplinary ideas emerging from the research community outside current disciplinary boundaries, including to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>unlock new research, new approaches or new methods that would not emerge from established disciplinary thinking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>demonstrate reciprocal research benefits through the integration of distinct disciplinary perspectives and spheres of knowledge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>support breakthrough or disruptive ideas and collaborations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>incentivise new and unexpected types of interdisciplinary research not routinely funded through existing UKRI responsive mode schemes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>encourage speculative, early stage and high potential interdisciplinary research proposals, embracing new concepts, techniques, or technologies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UKRI is not seeking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>applications where there is a clear <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/apply-for-funding\/how-to-apply\/preparing-to-make-a-funding-application\/if-your-research-spans-different-disciplines\/\">alternative research council responsive mode scheme<\/a> including interdisciplinary research that fits within a single research council remit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>projects where the programme of work appears siloed and where interdisciplinary research outcomes are limited, for example where work packages are discreet and discipline specific rather than integrating disciplinary knowledge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>projects where there is an imbalance of the intellectual content, and some disciplines appear \u2018bolted\u2019 on<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The full economic cost (FEC) of your project can be up to \u00a31.2 million, for up to two years.
