Its role is to safeguard cultural heritage at risk due to conflict and\/or climate change and to contribute to sustainable social stability and economic prosperity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It does not fund standalone academic research, but universities frequently participate as lead applicants or key partners contributing to practical conservation through applied research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This round will support cultural heritage protection projects in the following countries:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bangladesh<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Egypt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ethiopia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Iraq<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jordan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kenya<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lebanon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Libya<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nepal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pakistan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Palestine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sudan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Syria<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tanzania<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tunisia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uganda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yemen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be competitive, projects must demonstrate potential impact across three key areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Heritage<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cultural heritage will be in better condition, more prepared and better understood.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Society<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Societies will be stronger, more inclusive and more resilient as a result of the project.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Economy<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Projects will lead to increased opportunities and benefit for people and places.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">ELIGIBILITY<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cultural Protection Fund welcomes applications from anywhere in the world, but all applicants must either be based in, or work with, a local partner in one of the target countries specified above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">VALUE AND DURATION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Organisations will be able to apply for grants up to \u00a3500,000 to deliver multi-year cultural heritage protection projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">KEY DATES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Call for Expressions of Interest opens: w\/c 22 June 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Online information sessions: Early July 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deadline: TBC<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the meantime, find out more about the <a href=\"https:\/\/cultural-protection-fund.britishcouncil.org\/about\">Cultural Protection Fund<\/a> and subscribe to the <a href=\"https:\/\/cultural-protection-fund.britishcouncil.org\/newsletter\">CPF bulletin<\/a> to find out when the next funding round is launched.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Cultural Protection Fund is the UK&#8217;s main response to international cultural heritage protection.
