These are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advanced Manufacturing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clean Energy Industries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creative Industries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Defence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digital and Technologies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Life Sciences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your project does not align with one of the six priority sectors, it may still be eligible if it is exploiting a novel area of research and the Business Partner meets the criteria for a high growth potential. However, priority will be given to projects that align with the Industrial Strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">ELIGIBILITY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Knowledge Base<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Knowledge Base partner must lead the project and must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be a UK registered\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/check-a-university-is-officially-recognised\/recognised-bodies\">higher education<\/a>\u00a0(HE) or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/check-a-university-is-officially-recognised\/listed-bodies\">further education<\/a>\u00a0(FE) institution,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/ukri-endorsement-employing-or-hosting-institutions-global-talent-visa\/ukri-list-of-approved-research-organisations?_ga=2.267606669.2033440217.1688997034-2073793321.1686748662\">research technology organisation<\/a>\u00a0(RTO) or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/catapult.org.uk\/\">Catapult<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be eligible to register to participate in the KTP programme, but does not have to be registered with KTP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>invite one UK registered\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/ukpga\/2006\/46\/part\/1\/crossheading\/types-of-company\">business<\/a>\u00a0into the Innovation Funding Service (IFS) application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>invite the AKT Monitoring Officer\u00a0to support the application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not have ownership of 50% or more of the Business Partner or a controlling interest via a shareholder agreement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>recruit Associate roles in a demonstrably fair manner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>recruit an Associate of either 0.5 or 1 FTE<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>agree to provide at least 0.25 day per week of academic support for the Associate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>complete the application form in partnership with the business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>if applicable, reach an intellectual property (IP) agreement with the Business Partner before the project commences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Business Partner<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To collaborate with a Knowledge Base, the Business Partner must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be a UK registered business and have four or more full time equivalent employees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>complete the application form in partnership with the Knowledge Base partner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>provide the Knowledge Base with evidence of their ability to financially support their contribution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be able to host the Associate and provide them with supervisory support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>if appliable, reach a written IP agreement with the Knowledge Base before the project commences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Exclusions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following organisations are specifically excluded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>UKRI organisations and businesses owned or operated either wholly or partially by UKRI or one of its councils<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>central government departments and the devolved administrations in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>charitable and third sector organisations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Any organisation eligible to become a KTP Knowledge Base may not apply as a Business Partner.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">VALUE AND DURATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A project\u2019s total eligible grant costs are <strong>\u00a335,000<\/strong> and projects must be for a duration of <strong>three months<\/strong> only. A proportion of the Knowledge Base partners\u2019 costs will be funded by Innovate UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is no upper limit to project costs, but any costs over \u00a335,000 must be met by the Business Partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Project costs allocated to travel, subsistence, consumables and estates must not exceed a combined amount of \u00a33,500. Costs exceeding this amount must be met by the Business Partner and listed as part of their additional Business Partner contribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any funding is provided on a no subsidy basis. This means you must publish or make all project outputs openly available on a non-selective basis.
