Therefore, applications for funds to support time and consumables, rather than resources, equipment and infrastructure will be considered more favourable. Applications should also make it clear that all other elements are in place to enable successful completion of the intended activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">ELIGIBILITY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>have been a Professional Member of CASES for at least one full year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be within 10 years of completing their PhD or Professional Doctorate (whichever came first) \u2013 CASES will consider making adjustments on a needs basis for individuals who have taken a career break within the first five years of their career (e.g. maternity leave or leave due to illness)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>submit the application form and a two-page CV (only information contained within the application form and the CV will be considered by the Chairs of the Divisions)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If successful, you will be asked to provide a report and to present the findings at the annual CASES conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications are assessed against the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the extent to which the grant will enable the applicant\u2019s personal career development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the projected impact of the proposed work and how the grant will enable this<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the applicant\u2019s overall contribution to CASES<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>that the applicant has not submitted a CASES Project Grant application within the past year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>that the applicant has not received a CASES Project Grant within the past three years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">VALUE AND DURATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can apply for up to \u00a35000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grants may be used for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>staff costs to undertake the project (your time or a casual research assistant), but does not include indirect costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>fees for courses \/ workshops etc. specifically related to development of skills and knowledge appropriate to the proposed work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>purchase of equipment \/ consumables specifically for use in the applied work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>They must not be used for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>paying for CASES Supervised Experience supervision<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>membership of professional bodies, etc<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>costs to present any findings at a conference (i.e. for conference travel, accommodation or registration costs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>support for work directly associated with a course\/degree for which the applicant is already registered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">KEY DATES<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline: 15 July 2026 <\/strong>(each year)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Decision: within eight weeks of the deadline<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>More information, including how to apply, is available in on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cases.org.uk\/sspage-awards___grants-grants-cases_early_mid_career_research_grant.html\">opportunity webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Early to mid-career Grants - L.Bottoms (28-05-24)\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/951533804?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div data-wp-interactive=\"core\/file\" class=\"wp-block-file\"><object data-wp-bind--hidden=\"!state.hasPdfPreview\" hidden class=\"wp-block-file__embed\" data=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cases_ecr_application_form___march_25640.pdf\" type=\"application\/pdf\" style=\"width:100%;height:600px\" aria-label=\"Embed of cases_ecr_application_form___march_25640.\"><\/object><a id=\"wp-block-file--media-21505d85-69f6-4b43-bfef-74c9b42eec24\" href=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cases_ecr_application_form___march_25640.pdf\">cases_ecr_application_form___march_25640<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cases_ecr_application_form___march_25640.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button wp-element-button\" download aria-describedby=\"wp-block-file--media-21505d85-69f6-4b43-bfef-74c9b42eec24\">Download<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Funding for an early-mid career researcher to help develop their professional identity in the field of sport and exercise sciences.
