This is likely to include a combination of expertise such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>mental health research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>data science<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>digital tool development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>lived experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>mental health policy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>mental health practitioners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>specialists in areas such as data ethics, open science, and expertise relevant to sustaining and scaling data tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Teams can include early career researchers and&nbsp;practitioners, and\/\u200bor&nbsp;people&nbsp;with relevant skills and experience but who are not&nbsp;working in mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lead applicants should be based at either a higher education institution, a research institute, a non-academic healthcare organisation, or a not-for-profit organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Co-applicants (can be based anywhere in the world apart from mainland China) should be based at either a higher education institution, a research institute, a non-academic healthcare organisation, a not-for-profit organisation, a commercial organisation, or self-employed (for example a freelance data scientist).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">VALUE AND DURATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Six teams will be selected from shortlisted applications and will each receive up to \u00a3100,000 to develop and test their prototypes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After nine months, three teams will be chosen to receive up to an additional \u00a3300,000 each to continue developing their tool or application for a further nine months.\ufeff<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">KEY DATES<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/events.teams.microsoft.com\/event\/3d5f0f98-324c-47d3-b9df-785cfa78a40e@9c85420c-07ed-40e7-9c4c-4207556dc906\">Virtual matchmaking session<\/a>: 5 March 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/events.teams.microsoft.com\/event\/abb7ef80-9e09-4802-b541-e18261cccd78@9c85420c-07ed-40e7-9c4c-4207556dc906\">Application masterclass and networking session<\/a>: 19 March 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline: 8 May 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Full details including an applicant information pack and other supporting documents can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialfinance.org.uk\/impact\/the-wellcome-mental-health-data-prize-uk#\">opportunity webpage<\/a>, where you will also find more information about previous winning teams.
