{"id":1868,"date":"2025-12-09T16:24:17","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T16:24:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=1868"},"modified":"2026-01-06T10:52:32","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T10:52:32","slug":"pre-call-announcement-british-academy-international-fellowships-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=1868","title":{"rendered":"Pre-call announcement: British Academy International Fellowships 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"283\" height=\"114\" src=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/BA-logo-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1869\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Funding for international early career researchers to work for two years at a UK institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>*Please note that a series of measures designed to the raise this scheme&#8217;s success rate have been introduced, with changes to the coming call summarised below.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">ELIGIBILITY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicant must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>have a PhD (applicants in the final stages of their PhD will be accepted provided that the PhD will be completed \u2013 including viva \u2013 before the Final Awards Committee meets on the 1 June 2026)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have no more than five years of active full time postdoctoral experience at the time of application (discounting career breaks but including teaching experience and\/or time spent in industry)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be working outside the UK<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not hold UK citizenship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be competent in oral and written English<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have a clearly defined and mutually beneficial research proposal agreed with a UK host researcher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">VALUE AND DURATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These awards offer salary support for two years at 80% FEC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants can also apply for research expenses of up to \u00a312,000 and relocation costs of up to \u00a38,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">KEY DATES<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scheme opens: 15 January 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline: 11 March 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earliest start date: 1 October 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>More information, including details of past awards, can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebritishacademy.ac.uk\/funding\/schemes\/international-fellowships\/\">opportunity webpage<\/a>.
