{"id":1766,"date":"2025-10-31T11:45:43","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T11:45:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=1766"},"modified":"2025-10-31T11:45:44","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T11:45:44","slug":"knowledge-transfer-partnerships-2025-26-round-four-and-updated-guidance-around-partner-organisation-eligibility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=1766","title":{"rendered":"Knowledge Transfer Partnerships: 2025-26 Round Four (and updated guidance around partner organisation eligibility)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"330\" src=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Innovate-UK-logo-1024x330.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1767\" srcset=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Innovate-UK-logo-1024x330.png 1024w, https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Innovate-UK-logo-300x97.png 300w, https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Innovate-UK-logo-768x247.png 768w, https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Innovate-UK-logo.png 1491w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Funding for a UK registered business to partner with a knowledge base with a view to bringing new skills and the latest academic thinking to a specific, strategic innovation project.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Partnerships include placement of a skilled graduate (known as a \u2018KTP Associate\u2019) within the business to work on the project, having been recruited by the knowledge base for their knowledge and expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proposals can be for any kind of project but must show:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>why the business needs this Knowledge Transfer Partnership<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what new knowledge is required by the business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what new capabilities will be embedded as a result of the KTP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">ELIGIBILITY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A UK registered higher education or further education institution, RTO or Catapult must collaborate with a UK registered business with two or more full-time employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that from this round onwards, <strong>KTP proposals involving third sector or public sector partners will not be supported<\/strong>. Therefore, organisations defined as being within the public sector, including UKRI and ARIA, along with any commercial enterprise they own or operate, are no longer eligible to apply for a KTP. Similarly, third sector including business arms of charities or other third sector organisations that reinvest any surplus for social, environmental or cultural objectives are not eligible to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organisations eligible to become a KTP knowledge base, may not apply into KTP as a business partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">VALUE AND DURATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A project\u2019s total eligible costs are typically \u00a38,500 per month. Projects must be between 12 and 36 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the knowledge base partners costs will be funded by Innovate UK. The rest of the eligible project costs are paid by the business partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible costs depend on a number of factors, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the duration of the project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>where the project will be located<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the size of the business or group<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>if your business operates virtually<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Successful applications are partially funded on the following basis:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>large companies may receive a grant contribution of up to 50% of eligible project costs, with the business paying the balance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/fcdo-small-to-medium-sized-enterprise-sme-action-plan\/small-to-medium-sized-enterprise-sme-action-plan\">micro, small or medium sized enterprise\u00a0(SMEs)<\/a> may receive a grant contribution up to 67% of eligible project costs, with the business paying the balance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>as virtual businesses have no geographical location they may only receive a grant contribution of 50% or 67% depending upon the size of the business and must support additional costs as outlined in the KTP project costs guidance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\">KEY DATES<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline: 26 November 2025*<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants notified: 13 February 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feedback: 20 February 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Successful applicants workshop: 23 February 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*The KTP programme runs continuously throughout the year.
