Below are details of current research highlight notices and how to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-light-gray-to-cyan-bluish-gray-gradient-background has-background has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Improving the understanding of Diabetes in underserved communities to improve targeted interventions and reduce health inequalities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This highlight notice builds on a previous call focused on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.diabetes.org.uk\/sites\/default\/files\/2024-08\/Health%20inequalities%20HN%20V0.6%200824.pdf?VersionId=KVtmyoUsxhApSdMiNQdQgYEemCQnuzxr\">broad causes and impacts of health inequalities in diabetes<\/a>, and now focuses on three specific areas where targeted, community-informed research can drive meaningful impact:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Better understanding of Diabetes in different ethnic groups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physical activity to help reduce diabetes inequalities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting women with Diabetes across all life stages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications which are co-led by people with diabetes\/community organisations\/researchers from underserved groups are strongly encouraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A plain English summary and detailed highlight notice is included below<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-light-gray-to-cyan-bluish-gray-gradient-background has-background has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Leveraging the insights of children and young people with Type 1 Diabetes to shape research<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diabetes UK welcomes applications for research that addresses priority areas identified by children and adolescents living with type 1 diabetes. These areas were established through direct conversations with children and adolescents aged 6\u201317 from across the UK, reflecting the issues they most want research to explore.
