Funding for workshops that aim to develop the skills of early career researchers, including supporting and promoting the uptake of their research in high impact humanities and social science journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Writing workshops\u2019 should be seen as making a career intervention \u2013 creating networks, developing soft skills, setting aside dedicated time for research, instilling and aiming to change long-term academic culture, and engaging with the wider ecosystem researchers inhabit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ELIGIBILILTY<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Workshops are required to take place in Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Philippines, South Africa, Turkey, Thailand, Vietnam and\/or Least Developed Countries<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lead applicant must hold an established role in an eligible university or research institute in the UK, Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Philippines, South Africa, Turkey, Thailand, Vietnam and\/or Least Developed Countries<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each project must include at least one researcher who is based in Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Philippines, South Africa, Turkey, Thailand, Vietnam and\/or Least Developed Countries if the Principal Investigator is based in the UK or one researcher based in the UK if the Principal Investigator is based in Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Philippines, South Africa, Turkey, Thailand, Vietnam and\/or Least Developed Countries<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All proposals must be ODA-eligible<\/a>: only projects that have a primary objective which is directly and primarily relevant to the problems of developing countries may be counted as ODA-eligible<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

VALUE AND DURATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awards are set at a maximum of \u00a330,000. Funding must be used in the direct delivery of the workshops, and can cover travel and related expenses, subsistence costs, clerical assistance and consumables, childcare support (including for participants), networking, meeting and\/or conference costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award length is two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This call is expected to be able to support 24 awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
