{"id":1269,"date":"2025-04-14T11:25:35","date_gmt":"2025-04-14T11:25:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=1269"},"modified":"2025-04-22T08:56:49","modified_gmt":"2025-04-22T08:56:49","slug":"nihr-doctoral-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=1269","title":{"rendered":"NIHR Doctoral Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"501\" height=\"64\" src=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/NIHR.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/NIHR.png 501w, https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/NIHR-300x38.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 501px) 100vw, 501px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Funding to support PhD research in any scientific discipline or sector that contributes to improving health, including public health and social care, within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nihr.ac.uk\/nihr-academy-remit-personal-awards\">NIHR\u2019s funding remit<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NIHR is particularly interested in receiving applications that will develop skills within its strategic themes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>social care<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>mental health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>public health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>health data science<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>researchers working in a Local Authority setting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>applicants hosted by post-92&nbsp;HEIs and non University Hospital practice settings&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications received under these strategic themes will still have to meet the same quality threshold required for funding but will be given priority if the number of fundable applications exceeds the maximum that can be funded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>See also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nihr.ac.uk\/research-funding\/themed-calls\">themed calls and highlight notices<\/a> for other priority areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*Please note that this award replaces the NIHR Doctoral Fellowship, NIHR Doctoral Clinical and Practitioner Academic Fellowship, and NIHR Doctoral Local Authority Fellowship.
