{"id":1260,"date":"2025-04-11T09:55:21","date_gmt":"2025-04-11T09:55:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=1260"},"modified":"2025-04-11T09:55:21","modified_gmt":"2025-04-11T09:55:21","slug":"british-academy-small-research-grants-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/?p=1260","title":{"rendered":"British Academy Small Research Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"283\" height=\"114\" src=\"https:\/\/researchfunding.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/BA-logo.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1261\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funding to cover the cost of primary research expenses arising from a defined research project in the humanities and social sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funds are available to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>facilitate initial project planning and development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>support the direct costs of research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>enable the advancement of research through workshops or visits by or to partner scholars<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">ELIGIBILITY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These grants are for those at postdoctoral or equivalent level (equivalent experience may include holding, or having held, an established post, having a record of publications in the field and\/or having teaching experience).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications for collaborative or individual research projects are equally welcome under this scheme. Applications from international groups of scholars are welcome, provided there is a UK-based scholar as lead applicant for the duration of the award period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grants are not intended to support interchange between UK and overseas scholars where there is no planned programme of activity to meet a clearly specified research objective (dissemination of results of research conducted under the aegis of the project for which funding is sought is a permitted purpose, but applications will only be considered if this dissemination occurs through workshops bringing together a closed group of participants to advance a specifically identified research idea, rather than open call conferences).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">VALUE AND DURATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Up to \u00a310,000 tenable for up to 24 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">KEY DATES<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Deadline: 4 June 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Results notified by 5 September 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earliest start date: 22 September 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Latest start date: 28 March 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scheme notes and application guidance are included below.
