environmental research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NERC is seeking applications that can support pure, applied, technology-led or policy driven research but still address, or provide the means to address, clearly defined scientific questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research, designed, supported and delivered in partnership with other research funders and research users, is welcomed and increasingly supported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The research must sit predominantly within <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/councils\/nerc\/remit-programmes-and-priorities\/\">NERC\u2019s research areas<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">ELIGIBILITY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Standard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/councils\/nerc\/guidance-for-applicants\/check-if-you-are-eligible-for-funding\/\">NERC eligibility criteria<\/a> apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This funding opportunity is open to research groups as well as individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use the NERC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/publications\/nerc-remit-enquiry-form\/\">remit enquiry form<\/a> to check if your project is within remit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">VALUE AND DURATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The FEC of projects can be up to \u00a3950,000.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NERC will fund 80% of the FEC with the following exceptions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>justified equipment would be funded at 100%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>eligible costs for international project co-lead involvement would be funded at 100%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is no defined project duration, but awards are usually for between three and four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">KEY DATES<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Deadline: 25 July 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is anticipated that
