Note also that when considering if your research is within Leverhulme&#8217;s remit for Chemistry, the below two research areas are excluded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>studies of disease, illness and disabilities in humans and animals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>research that is intended to inform clinical practice or the development of medical applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>*Due to institutional caps in each subject area, an internal selection process will apply to this call (see document below).<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">ELIGIBILITY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nominees must hold either a permanent post or a long-term fellowship in a UK University with research degree awarding powers&nbsp;that would extend beyond the duration of the Philip Leverhulme Prize. Those otherwise without salary are not eligible to be nominated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nominees should be within 10 years of their PhD award date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">VALUE AND DURATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each prize is worth \u00a3100,000 for between two and three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expenditure from the award may be used for any purpose related to the advancement of the winner&#8217;s research, provided that the items of expenditure fall within the categories normally eligible for Leverhulme funding.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible items of expenditure include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>research assistance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>teaching replacement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>travel and subsistence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>consumables (including specialist books, databases and similar materials)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>technical support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>computer equipment and software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ineligible items of expenditure are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>capital equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>augmentation of the Prize Winner\u2019s salary<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>institutional overheads<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background\" style=\"text-decoration:underline\">KEY DATES<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>University of Worcester internal selection deadline: <strong>24 February 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full application deadline: <strong>14 May 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Decisions will be made by the end of November 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funded Research to commence between 1 December 2025 and 1 November 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr
